This is an original milepost standing alongside bridge 192 which carries the
B5391 over the canal.

It also stands alongside a derelict building which may have been a pub or
toll-house, judging from the angled doorway.

Further along the canal to the north-west are the Lion Salt Works. These were
first opened in 1842 and produced salt for export until 1986. The works are
being restored and are open to the public.
