This is an original milepost. It is situated a short way to the north of the
chemical works that dominate the landscape along here.
There are a number of pipe bridges crossing the canal and evidence of a short
arm leaving the canal, crossed by a towpath bridge.
The opposite bank is home to Colliery Narrowboat Company and there are numerous
narrowboats stored on the far bank, out of the water.
