This is one of the few replacement mileposts at the morthern end of the canal.
Unfortunately, the dedication plate has been removed.

It is located just south of bridge 176, which is an access bridge and, in common
with many of the canal bridges in Cheshire, painted white.

There is a stop-plank store on the far bank of the canal, alongside the bridge.
There are a number of such stores along the canal but this is the only one I can
recall being on the non-towpath side of the canal.
