This milepost is situated immediately below Rump's lock (lock 70). At the
time this photograph was taken, the growth of the hedge behind the milepost
obscurred it from more than a few yards along the towpath, or from the lock.The pub that stood across the road running alongside the canal (A533) has recently been refurbished and opened as an Indian restaurant.
