Milepost 58 ~ Middleport

Link to picture of milepost This is a replacement milepost and is found not far from the site of the old Shelton Steelworks.
Link to ... The land on the opposite side to the towpath was the site of the old Burslem Branch Canal. Most of the land is now derelict.
Link to ... However there are plans to restore the Burslem Branch as part of a regenerative initiative for Burslem Port and the associated wharves and warehouses.
