Milepost 42 ~ Salt

Link to picture of milepost This is an original milepost and is found opposite the tree-lined slopes which form part of the grounds of Sandon Hall.
Link to view to Salt Bridge In the distance to the west is Salt Bridge. The architecture of the bridge is far more elegant than the functional red-brick, hump-backed canal bridge. Unfortunately, the other side of the bridge is not quite so attractive.
Link to view south east Although not visible in these photos, Pitt's Column stands on the hillside opposite.
