Milepost 40 ~ Ingestre Bridge
This is another replacement milepost. It stands a short distance from Ingestre
Bridge, near Shirleywich. Opposite the milepost is a small winding hole. This is
almost all that remains of an arm that ran across to the nearby main road and
the salt works that stood there.

There are a number of information boards along this stretch of canal explaining
about the salt industry that grew up along here. More information about this
