Milepost 36 ~ Colwich

Link to picture of milepost This is a replacement milepost found on the outskirts of the village of Colwich. The canal now runs along the northern edge of Cannock Chase.
Link to ... Midway between this milepost and the previous one is Wolseley Bridge. The Wolseley Arms, which stands alongside the bridge, is reputed to have been a meeting place for the proprieters of the canal in its early planning days.
