Milepost 25 ~ Fradley Junction

Link to picture of milepost Although this is still an isolated spot, Fradley Junction marks the point where the Coventry Canal joins the Trent and Mersey canal. The true canal-based settlement that emerged has remained unaffected by later influences such as roads or the encroachment of urban sprawl.
Link to ... It's also the home of the local British Waterways local office, the Swan public house and a five lock flight. The crane which stands outside the BW offices originally came from Horninglow Wharf in Burton upon Trent.
There are actually two dedication plates set into the wall above the milepost. One relates to milepost 28 which stands on an isolated stretch of towpath whilst the other, relating to this milepost, reads as follows:
