This is another original and relatively isolated milepost. It is found not too far
southwest of Tatenhill lock. The lock is overlooked by a very attractive lock cottage
and the overspill from above the lock appears to be piped beneath the house.
When the Trent &Mersey Canal Society began restoring all the mileposts, this
one was found with milepost 18 in the garden of the nearby lock cottage at Tattenhill
lock. They were moved to their current locations in October 1978.
