This is an original milepost and is found alongside Hillfields bridge, Clay Mills.
Not far away is the Victorian Pumping station that used to pump all the sewage produced by
Burton to a sewage farm between Eggington and Etwall. Restoration work has been undertaken by
the Claymills Pumping Engines Trust and one of the two beam engines has been restored. Steaming
days are held throughout the year.
