Milepost 12 ~ Egginton

Another relatively isolated milepost situated between Willington and Egginton.

It is on a fairly featureless stretch of the canal. Nearby is the Every Arms pub, although this has now closed and access was not possible from the canal in any case.

A new bridge (number 24A) has been constructed over the canal between here and Willington (visible in the picture looking towards Willington) to enable lorry traffic to access the quarry at Egginton.

There are two dedication plates for this post and they read as follows:
