Milepost 11 ~ Willington
This is another replacement post and is in the heart of the village of Willington by the marina. The marina offers a water point alongside the winding hole. There are temporary moorings that are frequently busy throughout the summer months. |
Willington has long been overlooked by the five cooling towers of its power station. This has been decommissioned and is in the process of being dismantled. |
There are three pubs near to the marina (the Dragon, the Rising Sun and the Green Man). |
More photos and information about Willington can be found on its own web-site at www.willington-derbys.org.uk |
The dedication plate reads as follows: |
